“Blåst” - A side table blown into life –

for Reclaim NYC X2

We traveled deep into the heart of the Norwegian forest to create a table that is blown into life. With artisan help from the well known glass artist Vidar Koksvik and his assistants we were able to realize our design for a mouth blown side table.

This ancient, handcrafted process of layering, heating and re-heating glass while constantly adding volume by blowing and forming has granted the “Blåst” tables a totally unique and one of a kind quality.

A timeless design -When steel tubes are bent the compression in the steel makes the tube over twice as strong – using this knowledge every bend on the WeGetAlong chair has been calculated and strategically placed to achieve the reliable good ergonomic qualities the chair has. Through this design approach and by only using high quality noble materials that gain a much desired aesthetic patina over time the WeGetAlong family becomes timeless.

Inspired by the  famous Brooklyn based electronica band LCD Soundsystem and their song with the same name. This public seating solution consists of a clear approach of material use, where a powder coated 'inside'  informs its presence  and an mirror polished 'outside' reflects its environment, all with one aluminum sheet.
